Congratulations to our CEO Craig Zawada, Q.C. who was recently appointed as a Bencher for the Saskatoon Electoral District. Craig fills the vacancy created when Judge Bruce Bauer was appointed to the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan.
The Law Society of Saskatchewan governs the legal profession in this province pursuant to The Legal Profession Act 1990. The Law Society is not funded by or affiliated with the Government; it must exercise its responsibility to govern the profession in the public interest.
A board of lawyers and non lawyers, known as Benchers, sets and enforces standards for admissions, professional conduct and quality of service. Enforcement may mean that sanctions are imposed or discipline proceedings are conducted against lawyers who violate those standards. More information on the Law Society can be found at its website.
